Eğitime erişimde özellikle okul-öncesi ve ortaöğretimdeki cinsiyet eşitsizliği ise varlığını koruyor.
12 yıl eğitim konusundaki yasal zorunluluğa rağmen, halen doğu ve güneydoğu illerinde kız çocuklarını okula göndermeme eğilimi ve çocuk işçi olarak çalıştırma geleneği bir sorun olarak varlığını sürdürüyor.
