International Women’s Day reminds us that achieving gender equality remains a crucial battle for women and girls in all segments of society and the economy. Digital education and entrepreneurship are powerful tools to attain this goal, providing women worldwide with the opportunity to empower themselves, realize their full potential, and become active participants in the digital society.
Achieving gender equality and equity in education and in unions continues to be a top priority for Education International member organisations. A new survey of 123 education unions from around the world reveals a strong union commitment and significant progress made, as well as challenges and areas for improvement to advance equity.
ALIGN’s review of the latest evidence reveals that anti-gender backlash in education is taking place in contexts as diverse as Afghanistan, Chile, Indonesia, Kenya, Pakistan, South Africa, Uganda, the US.
